Job Overview


Our client is an established Infrastructure services company who specialise in technical services, telecoms, and engineering. You will join the electrical technical services team where you will work on site to apply your electrical knowledge and expertise. Due to ongoing growth, they are seeking to expand their technical team by hiring an experienced Electrician with some industrial experience. There is an outstanding package on offer (above union rates). The company has a long track record in promoting technical staff into project and operational management.

Role summary:

Reporting to the electrical team lead, your job will consist of electrical commissioning activity, preparation of Electrical Operational test documents, carrying out audits & FAT testing. The successful candidate must be first and foremost a responsible individual with great attention to safety precautions. The ideal candidate must also be experienced in different kinds of electrical devices and systems.

Key responsibilities and duties:

  • Experience in power up and pre-testing of electrical switchgear and distribution centres.
  • Start-up of systems such as HVAC, Pumping systems, process delivery systems, Pumps, motors etc.
  • Experience in maintenance and or start-up of VSDs and soft starts for three phase motors.
  • Management and documentation of project.
  • Manage the systems’ acceptance, operational and functional testing ensuring systems are ready and qualified for handover.
  • Executing specific inspections on materials, equipment, and construction / installation activities on site.
  • Issuing the relevant Quality Records
  • Writing and sending non-conformance reports to the QC Supervisor when required
  • Checks cable laying and cable identification, performs all relevant loop checks and punch-listing operations
  • Monitoring of power transformers, switchboard, accumulator battery, sockets outlet & lighting system.
  • Oversees visual inspections, checks ratings and material for connection.
  • Conducts tests of continuity & insulation resistance.
  • Supervision of tests, controls and inspections carried out.
  • Check conformity with the Quality Control Plan, obtain the relevant documentation, check procedures and equipment to be used in tests, controls, and inspections.
  • Ensure the correct implementation of the approved Inspection Test Plan.


  • Apprenticeship Qualified Electrician or an electrical engineering degree.
  • Strong PC skills, particularly MS office suite. (Specifically Excel and Word)
  • Strong communication skills, both written & verbal.
  • Strong team working ethos.
  • Very good English language skills
  • Strong team participant.
  • Problem Solver in a controlled manner.
  • Presentable appearance.
  • Experience in industrial and/or commercial electrical systems

What’s on offer:

  • Guaranteed 45 hours per week
  • Standard hourly rate €25.64 (for the first 39 hours)
  • Additional hours paid at €38.64/hour
  • Weekend work paid at double time
  • €70 per 5-day week subsistence (tax free)
