Job Description

Sparktel have partnered with a Kildare based Design Engineering company who specialize in the manufacturing and installation of glazed systems, internal joinery and bespoke furniture. Over their long history they have delivered bespoke high-end glazed and joinery products to France, Germany, Italy, the USA and the Middle East. Their products can be found in almost all industrial settings and they would be considered a market leader in their sector.

The Role:

Due to continued growth they are now seeking to hire a GM/ Operations manager to manage both staff and clients. This role is for a high-potential individual capable of working in a young growing business with a multi-disciplinary skillset and capable of handling a wide variety of tasks and self-direction. The role will give the individual significant exposure to experienced senior managers and will assist rapid development of commercial and general management skills and abilities.

You will be responsible for:

The day-to-day management and administration of the business, with a conscious focus on providing the MD/company owners up-to-date detailed understanding of its market status and potential growth areas in its supply chain.
Approving outgoing tenders and purchase orders within procurement faction and ensuring purchases made are appropriately allocated to project cost reports weekly.
Being the primary contact with the company’s client base on tendered and live projects and also the supply chain; where there will be a junior employee and accounts team to place orders based on approved purchase orders by GM.
Updating the project cashflows weekly and agreeing commercial payment points with clients.
Involved in the recruitment of new staff and the ultimate leader of current workforce.
The leader of both the Aluminum and Joinery production teams, determining the following weeks on-floor production plans. These are updated weekly in a production meeting held by GM.
The key responsibility of work winning for both sides of the business, with use of existing industrial relationships to attain work.

The Person:

Will have a strong background in Fabrication or Joinery setting. Ideally both.
Will have the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fluid and growing environment.
Will be highly proficient in Microsoft Office.
Will possess a high degree of initiative which enables valuable support to be provided to the Managing Directors.
Will have good commercial acumen.
Will be ambitious and willing to invest in own training and development. Further formal training and development is encouraged and should be discussed with the General Managers.
