Overview
Sparktel Recruitment are currently seeking an experienced Health and Safety Manager to join our client’s Strategy and Planning unit in the Cork region. Our client is an Irish based company offering engineering services and project management expertise to telecom customers in Ireland, UK and the USA. The successful candidate will have worked in similar position or have general understanding of the telecom’s environment and be willing to travel.
Responsibilities:
- Successfully oversee the development, implementation and maintenance of the Environmental Health & Safety system.
- Lead provision of advice to management and employees at all levels on matters relating to health and safety.
- Support the company’s policy of providing a safe working environment for all employees.
- Monitoring the regulatory environment and liaising with state agencies and other bodies on matters pertinent to Health and Safety.
- Monitoring and measurement of safety performance including accident data and audit results.
- Manage the auditing and calibration of equipment and business critical tools.
- Complete investigations into accidents, near misses and dangerous occurrences and provide comprehensive reports on all necessary actions.
Experience Required
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Health and Safety Manager or relevant industry experience.
- Strong understanding of health and safety legislation in a field environment.
- Relevant Health and Safety qualification.
- Strong knowledge of ARC Gis, Survey 123, Skillco (Desirable) but training will be provided.
- Must possess strong IT skills across all Microsoft tools.
- Strong leadership/Management skills.
