Overview: Sparktel currently have an excellent opportunity for a SHEQ Manager on behalf of our client who deliver exceptional fibre optic network, design, construction and customer installations for telecommunications. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing implementing health and safety programs, while ensuring they meet safety regulations.
Responsibilities:
  • Manage the SHEQ team, leading, developing and implementing health and safety policies, procedures and programs.
  • Inspire, motivate and advise company personnel, contractors and suppliers on SHEQ matters.
  • Carry out training and mentoring staff and contractors to ensure they are capable and competent to undertake their allocated tasks.
  • Conducting audits, inspections and assessments to ensure there’s no potential hazards or risks and completing weekly on-site investigations.
  • Ensure all KPI’s are monitored to evaluate health and safety management.
  • Lead incident investigations to determine causes and ensure no recurrences.

Experience Required:
  • BA in occupation health and safety, environmental science, or other related fields is an advantage but postgraduate qualifications in similar fields are desirable.
  • In depth knowledge of Health and safety legislations, regulations and standards.
  • Strong risk management practices
  • Experience working in senior health and safety role, successfully leading previous teams.
