Overview:
Sparktel are currently seeking a Head of Civils to work with our client in Dublin. Our client is one of Ireland’s leading Infrastructure Design and Build providers. They work across a number of large national framework contracts on including utilities and civils. The successful candidate will oversee and have commercial responsibility for the Civils Department in the build, upgrade and maintenance of street, footpath and road infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
- Management of the day-to-day operations of project delivery, ensuring all programmes of work are completed on time, within budget, and to required quality standards.
- Building and maintaining strong working relationships with regulatory authorities, councils, and other key stakeholders.
- Work closely with the Commercial team to identify potential risks to budget, suppliers, or project timelines early on.
- Monitor performance against project targets, ensuring quality standards are met.
- Incident Management: Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, quality failures, and service issues. Take corrective actions where needed.
- Assist with tendering and contract documentation, as well as monitoring and controlling project budgets.
- Conduct regular performance audits to ensure the highest standards of service and quality are maintained across the team.
- Ensure adherence to health and safety procedures, taking responsibility for yourself and team members.
Requirements:
- 4+ years of Senior Civils management particularly in utilities and roadworks
- A level 8 Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent experience
- Excellent stakeholder management skills
- Proven Project Management skills
- Good understanding of Health, Safety and Environmental regulations
- Strong IT Skills
- Excellent verbal communication skills, which allow you to confidently liaise with clients and team members.
